Park Dedication Precedes Holiday Parade on Dec. 5 at 10:30 a.m.
The Main Street Plaza pocket park (located between the new parking lot and Main Street) with its new custom-designed sculpture, will be formally dedicated just before the annual Souderton Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5. The parade begins at 11 a.m.
Local dignitaries, Rep. Bob Godshall and Souderton Mayor John Reynolds, will comment before Indian Valley Arts Foundation (IVAF) Board Chair Gwen Cukierski dedicates the sculpture to the community on behalf of the Indian Valley Arts Foundation.
Funding for the pocket park came from the Montgomery County Community Revitalization Program. The sculpture, titled Home, Stability, and Growth, was a cooperative effort among Souderton Borough, IVAF, and Souderton-Telford Main Streets and made possible through local donations. Souderton borough crews completed landscaping surrounding the sculpture in November.
On site is a plaque describing the piece and naming the major sponsors and supporters of the sculpture- many of whom will be on hand for the dedication, including representatives from the IVAF, a group of local artists, Univest, Moyer Indoor Outdoor, NF Landis, Souderton Telford Rotary, and friends and relatives of Dolores Day.
