Value Statement from the Souderton Borough Police Department
Values are the beliefs held by the Souderton Borough Police Department (SBPD) and its personnel. They guide the actions of individual employees and the policy decisions made by management. As such, values provide the SBPD with a sense of why it exists and what it wants to achieve. For employees, values indicate how they view the world, their constituents, and others with whom they have contact. In high performing organizations, values are the driving force behind behavior. People do things not because of the threat of discipline, but because they believe in what they are doing.
The values held by the SBPD are:
1. The protection of life and property.
2. Respect for all people.
3. Fair and equal treatment under the law, regardless of anyone's sex, race, color, creed, age, sexual orientation, economic status, religious beliefs, or political affiliations.
4. Respect for the law, and appropriate enforcement of the law.
5. Courtesy, kindness, and professionalism.
6. Honor, dignity, and honesty in everything we do.
