Receptionist Job Description:

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for those interacting with residents of
the Borough of Souderton. Additionally, they work to support the office staff with basic
functions of the Borough. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention
to detail, ability to work precisely but quickly, and the ability to work independently. This
position also requires the ability to communicate excellently and respectfully with individuals of a variety backgrounds.

The individual working as the Receptionist should be patient,
friendly, welcoming, and helpful to anyone who they may interact with. The Receptionist
is instrumental in helping to keep the day-to-day operations of the Borough running
smoothly and helping the Borough’s residents and business owners work through
requests and deliver information concisely and accurately.
Wage: $18.00- $22.00 per hour

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Answer Phones and Direct Calls To Proper Channel
• Process Payments
• Greet and Assist Customers
• Process Daily Mail
• Office Support
• Yard Sale Permit Processing
• Assist with Station Check-Out and Deposit Preparation
• Collect Payments from Night Deposit Box
• Assemble Payments Drawer/ Cash Tray Set-Up (Morning and Evening)
• Other Duties as Assigned
Experience:
• High school diploma or GED
• Two to three years of experience in an office or administrative role
Skillset:
• Friendly and upbeat personality
• Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ability to learn new technology/ programs
• Independent problem-solving skills
• Conflict-resolution skills and self-control
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work within deadlines
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Physical Environment:
• The duties of this job may include physical activities such as reaching, standing,
walking, grasping, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, and performing
repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• This job is performed in an office environment.
Work Environment:
The work environment may include some of the following: -
• Time Pressure/ Fast-Paced Environment (urgent deadlines, multiple tasks at
once)
• Working under distractions (interruptions including telephone calls, customers,
other office staff, expedited tasks)
• Ability to get cooperate and work with people across diverse backgrounds and
skill-sets
